The Central Bank Payments conference has had to become virtual and will now take place as four separate half day events. These will be held on 8, 15, 22 and 29 November.

The line up of speakers is strong covering topics such as cross-border payments, Central Bank Digital Currencies and financial inclusion.

Organisers Currency Research have also announced that the Cash Cycle EMEA, due to be held in Amsterdam from 2-3 November as a hybrid event, will now take place online as well.

The CBDC conference

The organisers of the online CBDC conference, 4-6 October, have announced that Dr Jörg Kukies, State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany, will be the keynote speaker.

The speaker line-up now consists of 50 presenters. They include representatives from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), various central banks, technology providers, universities, and policy makers – who will provide a comprehensive insight into the various aspects of CBDC.
