WBS to Focus on Contingency, Crisis Management and Sustainability

The 2023 World Banknote Summit (WBS) takes place 20-22 February in Antwerp.

The wide ranging programme includes the National Bank of Poland and the National Bank of Ukraine talking about cash management following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The user perspective of cash will be covered by speakers from the Bundesbank, the European Central Bank and the supermarket, Colruyt Group.

The Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India will speak on their sustainability work and Reconnaissance International will give an overview of sustainability activity across the cash cycle. The Future of Cash will be debated in a discussion including the Bank of England, the European Savings and Retail Banking Group, Cash Essentials and Prof. Franz Seitz.

Different production-related aspects will be discussed by Parvis Systems and Seprinto & Partners. There is also a Printer Forum which provides a platform for printing experts from state print works (SPW) to meet and discuss production-related topics in a private environment. The forum is only open to registered representatives of state print works and partners of the WBS.

The CBDC Conference 2023 – Date and Location Announced

The 2023 CBDC Conference will be in Istanbul from 12-14 September, with the CBDC Academy taking place on the morning of 12 September. The last conference was in August 2022 in Frankfurt with more than 60 speakers from central banks, the Bank for International Settlements, technology providers and think tanks. With the pace of activity undiminished, another full agenda is promised.
