Dates for the CBDC Conference Set

The CBDC conference returns to Istanbul 10-12 September. As previously, the first morning will host the CBDC Academy to set out the fundamentals of CBDC. Some 60 speakers from central banks, technology providers and think tanks will then present at the conference.

To give a sense of why the CBDC conference is important, this year the IMF and ECB have issued two papers on CBDCs, the Federal Reserve, Bank of Canada, Uppsala University, arXiv, an open access repository, and OMFIF have published one, and the Bank of England has reported the results of its CBDC consultation. Ten major studies in seven weeks. And this isn’t a particularly unusual run rate for CBDC publications.

The first CBDC conference took place in Frankfurt in 2021 and has been held annually ever since. The second online Latin American CBDC conference is on 20-21 February in Spanish.
