Visa’s Digital Payment Innovations

Visa has laid out its payment plans for the future. The focus is on making payments personalised for the individual user, convenient and secure.

Visa Flexible Credentials is already live in Asia and will be launched in the US this summer. The idea is a single card product that allows its user to switch between paying using debit, credit, ‘pay-in-four’, buy-now-pay-later or using reward points. Users will be able to set their own parameters.

It is building on the ability to use cards when they are tapped on a mobile device with three new options:

  • Easy authentication when shopping online (Tap to Confirm)
  • Immediate transfer of funds to people (Tap to P2P (person-to-person)
  • Increased security when adding a card to a wallet or app (Tap to Add Card).
