Cashback Widely Used in Poland

A study commissioned by the Polish Cashless Foundation has reported that nearly half of respondents to a survey withdrew cash from store registers. Threequarters were aware this was possible.

In Poland people have to make a purchase in order to get cash and the maximum withdrawal is PLN 1,000, $260, per transaction. 60% of those who used withdrew cash in stores were in the 25-34 age group.

Branch and ATM Decline Starts in Indonesia

Indonesia is starting to experience a fall in bank branches and ATMs. Data from the Indonesian Banking Surveillance issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) showed that the number of ATMs, cash deposit machines and cash recycling machines was 91,412 devices at the end of 2023 compared with 94,016 devices a year earlier, a fall of nearly 3%.
