Riksbank Supports Cash Protection Proposals

In the context of the decline of cash usage in Sweden, the Deputy Governor of Sweden’s Riksbank, Aino Bunge, has emphasised the need for regulation to protect the status of cash at a seminar in Sweden’s parliament.

In December last year an inquiry into cash proposed that retailers selling food and pharmacy products should be obliged to accept cash and that measures need to be taken to safeguard the underlying cash infrastructure. The Riksbank supports both suggestions.

Law Changes Drive Higher Cash Usage in Tunisia

The value of currency in circulation (CIC) in Tunisia reached a new historic record at the end of last week, up 1.66 billion dinars compared to the amount recorded on the same date last year.
