Secure Innovation Uses Satellites for Cash Protection
Intelligent cash protection and custom control solutions provider Spinnaker International has rebranded to Secure Innovation.
For over 40 years the company has researched, designed, and developed innovative solutions to protect people, and safely secure cash and critical assets in the banking, cash-in-transit, and retail sectors.
According to Managing Director Tony Westington, ‘as our business advances, our technology reaches new markets, and our core beliefs are strengthened. Having been awarded funding in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), this has cemented our future growth into unique online asset control solutions with satellite technology. This is why we have chosen to update our name and image to reflect who we are’.
One of the first developments under its new identity is the launch of Remote Planet, which the company claims is the first (and only) integrated cash tracking solution enabling fully integrated communication between cash security cases, cash carrying vehicles, ATMs, and security company control centres.
Remote Planet is described as a complete package to manage the security of multiple, high value assets from a centralised hub, accessible on desktop or mobile with active control. It allows a reduction in the amount of time taken to manage assets while providing real-time visibility of their location and security status with remote communication. This minimises losses from theft, damage, and equipment downtime, and at the same time protects people.
One of its unique characteristics is its global coverage achieved through satellite navigation using GNSS (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo), which provides accuracy within 5m for a global location fix. Low Earth Orbit technology provides true ‘always on’ global coverage.
Another feature is two-way communication – remote active control and not just a location service. Assets are remotely monitored and controlled, and the system can actively respond to a security alert.
There is also crosstalk between assets which allows an entire family of devices to communicate with each other, thus improving security and operational efficiency.
